This is a rewarding opportunity to step into education while staying connected to the industry you know and love. This is permanent fulltime position based at our Trades Training East Tamaki campus. No teaching experience? That's okay - we'll support you with the training and qualifications needed to become a great educator.
What you'll be doing:
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based training to apprentices and trainees
Support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals
Create a positive, inclusive, and effective learning environment
Monitor learner progress and provide coaching and feedback
Build strong relationships with learners, employers and industry stakeholders
Ensure training is delivered safely and to industry standards
What we're looking for:
Qualified plumber, gasfitter, drainlayer, or a combination of these trades
Strong industry experience and practical knowledge
Hold Unit Standard 4098 & 11551, or be willing to obtain them with Skills Group's support as part of your professional development
Hold Adult Education Level 4 or 5, or be willing to work towards it with support provided through your professional development journey
Good communication and relationship-building skills
Passion for mentoring and supporting others to succeed
Commitment to health and safety and professional standards
