This permanent full-time role delivers Pre-Trades electrical training through a combination of practical, hands-on learning and virtual classes. While some classes are delivered virtually, this is a fully campus-based position to enable you to deliver practical training and support learners on site.

The working pattern includes three evening shifts each week, so we've outlined the hours clearly above to ensure you know exactly what to expect:

• Monday & Friday: 8:00am–4:30pm

• Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 12:30pm–9:00pm

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver engaging, industry-relevant Pre-Trades electrical training through practical lessons and virtual classes.

• Support learners to develop the practical knowledge and skills they need to progress towards employment and careers in the electrical industry.

• Assess learner progress, complete marking within required timeframes, and deliver teaching in line with approved learning resources.

• Provide coaching, encouragement and academic guidance to help learners succeed.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of programme delivery, teaching practice and learning materials.

• Maintain a safe, organised and well-equipped training environment while modelling excellent health and safety practices.

What you'll bring:

• NZ Electrical Registration is essential (Full Practising Licence, Inspector's Licence or Electrical Engineering Degree).

• Strong practical experience within the electrical industry and a passion for passing your knowledge on to others.

• Experience in tertiary teaching or training is desirable; development and support will be provided.

• Hold Unit Standard 4098, or be willing to obtain it with Skills Group's support as part of your professional development.

• Strong learner engagement, coaching and communication skills, including confidence delivering learning in a virtual environment.

• Good organisational and digital skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
